We are excited to be 1 of 18 self-promo pieces published in the new book "Flaunt" by UnderConsideration. This is the second edition of Flaunt and showcases portfolio's, self-promotions, and professional interviews about showing creative work in effective, compelling, and memorable ways. It's an honor to be featured among some very talented folks.

Reaching out to your audience in creative ways helps to stay top of mind in crowded competitions. A leave behind that is memorable, useful or both can be impactful, and is one investment worth doing. The Study has been sending out self-promo's for many years for ourselves, and our clients. This year's paid off with several new business opportunities and collaborations, plus it's always nice to see your work in print.

We got a little Rosey

The Study was given an Award of Excellence for PR by the Portland Advertising Federation, and their 2014 Roseys Awards Competition. With over 400 entries, only 19 Awards of Excellence were awarded. We're proud of our efforts to support and promote WeMake in funding arts & music education in Portland. We also had a lot of fun working on the project, and building something with no budget that was impactful, creative, and memorable.

EXPLORE + WONDER

Two words that begin the creative process, for myself and client work. It's this approach that allows possibilities to be seen, and play to develop into strategic thinking. Often times, play goes missing when the work begins, this is a downfall. When we play, there are no mistakes, just fun and lessons in letting go.

This time of the year is the perfect time to remind ourselves to let things go and be open to possibilities. As I venture into the New Year I can only set the course for new discoveries, collaborations, and explorations. WONDER, always wonder, play leads to discovery, and that's where the ADVENTURE lies.

This year's promotional piece was a reminder to Wonder + Explore. It was created for clients, hopeful collaborations, family, and friends. It's a tea towel that's also a calendar, of course. Some of you may remember your grandma owning them. The artwork was created from hand cut stamps that was then silkscreened onto the towels. The towel was folded to package a note card with and instagram shot from one of my walks in the woods. I used two quotes by Emerson for the card and the towel— "Live in the sunshine, Swim in the sea, Drink the wild air"  and "Do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail". I had a lot of fun making them.
