I've had the pleasure to work with Ree Drummond, aka The Pioneer Woman for over 10 years. We’ve never met in person until two days before the grand opening of her general store— The Pioneer Woman Mercantile. When she asked me back in March of this year if I would create the brand, I was excited to make it happen.

Working on a project of this magnitude requires a lot of planning! My vendor list spanned across the world, and I managed it from my desk in Portland. Ree, is a great client who appreciates attention to detail and knows that it's the little things that make a brand shine. She not only gave me creative freedom to explore, but also encouraged me to push the vision. 

Working with someone for that long builds trust and friendship. Even though we never met until recently it's clear that we were meant too. If you haven't seen her tv show, you should at least check out her books for some good comfort food recipes. I recommend everything!

Creative Business Storytelling with Klum House & BYOB

I'm honored to be a guest at the next KLUM House & BYOB (Brave Your Own Business) workshop. I'll be joining Sara Wolf of Wolf Ceramics, Rebecca Pearcy of Queen Bee Creations, and Casey Ridge from Altar Boutique. All of these women are Portland creative mavens that will be sharing their journey into being a women entrepreneur in their selective fields.

I'll be talking about running a boutique design studio and juggling my creative endeavors that I feel are necessary to my spirit as a maker and activist for art and community. I hope you can join me!

Branding You, Finding your inner narrative—A workshop

Everyone has a story to tell, some of us just need a little help to tell it. We created a half day workshop for the fine folks over at the Portland branch of Edelam.  Students were guided through a series of exercises that utilized design thinking methods, creative brainstorming, and hands-on making to find and create their own inner narratives.

We love sharing the process of design thinking and taking time out of our design week to mix it up and teach when we can.
