INSIGHT:

Back in 2011 principle Yvonne Perez Emerson launched WeMake, a creative platform that engages Portland’s creative through hands-on experiences, creative dialogue, and design-in-action initiatives. Their mission is focused on the process of making and the spirit of community.

In October 2015,  WeMake held their first design conference on the process of making, The Study planned the direction of the event; including art direction, a social media campaign, print collateral, and the website design.

TASK:

If process is the common thread, how do you communicate it across all creative mediums and engage the audience to participate and attend.

SOLUTION:

Every year we reinterpret the brand through the the lens of each year’s overarching theme. 2015 explored the idea of a blank slate, translated into imagery through the use of white tools and maker targeted copy.

DELIVERABLES:

Brand design, print collateral, event graphics, website design, social media & brand awareness.

Social Media Campaign

Exploring the idea of a blank slate, the concept translated into a full blown campaign through the use of photographing white tools and maker targeted copywriting.

To engage the audience each week we asked, "how do you make?" in addition, they were prompted to answer the question and engage other makers.
