INSIGHT:
Founded in 2012. The modern styled, laid back, grassroots organization provides outlets for creative exploration through hands-on experiences, creative dialogue, and design-in-action initiatives. The annual event WeMake Celebrates brings together makers of all sorts to raise funds for arts & music education. In 2014 they celebrated 3 years with a curated birdhouse gallery and auction, maker activities and a guest speaker.
TASK:
Create something that is fun and festive which was centered around the process of making. The challenge was working with a limited budget and color palette of one—bright orange!
SOLUTION:
We expanded the color with bright hues and balanced the tone with simple white text. We designed and created 3D paper elements then photographed them in-house to be used in print collateral, digital components, and a series of stop-motion videos. We created the bird logo in its first year and used him as a mascot to tell the story. The videos were released (on social media) weekly for seven weeks leading up to the event.
DELIVERABLES:
Brand design, paper craft, print collateral, event graphics, stop-motion, social media & brand awareness.
We collaborated with Jeremy Pair for photography and Jill Dryer for background images in our videos and photo booth art.
